Build with Chrome (Grades K-2)
In this class students will explore a virtual LEGO playground without having to keep the plastic bins organized! This class consists of different challenges each week. Students will work at their own pace. Students will be challenged to build the tallest or largest building with only a limited number of bricks. Students will build two dimensional tessellations or something that represents a geometric shape. They will learn basic math concepts such as volume or multiplication by counting brick units. Then, students can select a place in the world to build and research the architectural designs associated with that location.
The task will be building a design to fit that geographic environment. Students will locate and research different historical monuments or buildings around the world and recreate them using the virtual LEGO bricks. The final challenge will be to build a cultural center for the area using Google Maps interface to travel around the world.
